It's been cold(28) in the mornings and in the 50-60's in the noon hours. I've been riding to work. Had to buy warmer gloves. Tomorrow it will be in the 70's. I detailed my bike 2 weeks ago, not a fun job. The warmer weather will be welcomed by all, I have seen many bikes on the road the last 2 weeks.

rode to Savanna today but was a little cool 44 temp at 70 MPH =?

Ctatyk
11-17-2008, 11:15 AM
You're tougher than I am.
I don't mind a short ride here & there when it's chilly...but riding to Savanna in 44 degrees would NOT be fun.
Then again...I did stand out in the cold watching a high school football game in Washington, IL on Saturday (Metamora won!!! YAY!!!!).
Then, I went to Hooter's and watch the UFC...and LOTS of Hooter tail...LOL

Jim

I did get the bike out last Saturday, rode about 90 miles, but the bike looked like crap and the roads were wet every where, I was thinking about gettin the bike out today, but man its a pain trying to clean the salty crap off of the bike, I might go out Sunday, tommorrow be in Chicago

Got out today and road again, 2 weeks in a row, it was cold, but worth it, plus almost no water and salt on the roads made it nice, roads are still cold tho, had the back end slide out on me in a turn gettting on a on-ramp, pucker factor a bit

Don't envy you guys over there. Have been few days where it has almost been too hot to ride. Perfect riding weather here in tropical north queensland. 32 degrees C and have to choose between riding through rainforest or along the coast. Life is tough

Ctatyk
02-26-2009, 06:40 PM
Phantom....do you need someone to be your bodyguard?
You feed me & make my bike payment & give me a bedroom with broadband cable for my computer and I'm there! I'll even pay my own way over and get my bike shipped over...LOL

That's close enough to my dream location! I would love to live in Brisbane...but that'll work...LOL

Glad to hear that someone is getting some good riding in!!!!!

Phantom109R
02-27-2009, 05:21 AM
Ctatyk. Mate I am 1800 kilometres north of brisbane. Get over here and I am sure you will have a good time. Going for a ride tomorrow. only 31 degrees C and aq few showers. Mate, you make the trip and there is always a bed at our place.

Ctatyk

I've been trying to get my company to transfer me to Oz. I work for Deere & Co. and we have a few locations there. The main one seems to be in Brisbane. I know that's where the expense reports are processed and that's what I do for the company here in the US.

So, perhaps one day, I'll be living in Oz! If I make it over there for even a visit, I'll be sure to take a swing up by Cairns to visit!

Ride safe, but not too safe because that's just BORING!

Yeah but I think karma might be coming my way because we are expecting a cyclone (hurricane to you guys) to hit in a couple of days. Forecast is that it is expected to form tomorrow and hit around Cairns on Sat afternoon. Think I'll stop bragging to you guys how good it is. At least until after it blows over.

Ctatyk
03-05-2009, 09:25 AM
Probably a good idea, mate!
Stay safe & hope it blows over without much drama!

Update. It is now a Category 2 cyclone and will be a Cat3 tonight off Cairns. Expecting gale force winds and buckets of rain. Moving the 109 into the next door neighbours secure garage.

http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x263/busabeater2/b-kingtrip004.jpg

Then I stopped at a gas station on the way home in clinton and some sportbike guys came over and talked to me about joining some local riding club, I told them about bluff road and they were excited to go ride it.

Seemd like cool guys, we exchanged phone numbers,

87 here in chilly Florida. Rode to Key West (220) miles from the house, got down to 83 at the coast and a little drizzle.....It was really tough, but I new someone should persevere for the good of all us boulevard riders, so momma and I stayed at the Duval house and enjoyed everything from the Hog's Breath Saloon, the Hard Rock Cafe', Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville to Steak n' Lobster on the pier at the yaught club......we did you all proud..............mj

Yeah...I'm glad that I was in Missouri...it was chilly & it sleeted & melted & turned to a bit of ice overnight, but was all melted by the time the sun came up the next day. I left 2 days of 75 degree weather to come back here...am I stupid???
