I've been slinging some ideas around to give a unique look to the R2 light assembly. The guys with the 06-07's have given us plenty to be able to choose from with mods on the rest of the bike, but there's nothing out there for us unless we go custom/one-off for now.
I agree with what some of the guys say about the tach standing out a lot more with the R2's. I'd like to get some custom risers and relocate the tach further down or a flush mount on the tip of the risers.
I've photoshopped a couple of changes to get an idea of what some paint on the small cowl would look like. When the weather gets too cold here to ride for a couple of weeks, I'm going to get started with this.
1. Painted the cowl black
2. Added a winged lid to the top of the headlight to give it a sleeker look
Let me know what you think or share your suggestions on ideas for making a custom look.

I'm throwing around some more ideas. Came up with another tonight. Photoshopped a B-King headlight assembly on the front of a 109. :)

I have no idea. I've got to search them out on the internet to see if you can even buy them yet through the aftermartket or OEM dealers.
It would be nice to be able to get some measurements on the B-King unit (side-to-side & top-to-bottom) and then the depth of the light/fairing combo.
I can check at the dealer where I got the 109 they most of the time sell the parts at about there cost. Its a good idea to know the owner and beer can help
guessing around $500.00:(

Get the measurements first. Have to make sure it's proportional to the size of the 109 bucket specs so it fits in between the forks nicely.

Do you still need the measurements? can stop by the dealier Monday or Tuesday:cool:

I got the measurements already. Stopped by last week and got them. The forks are noticeably closer together on the B-King than the 9.
It doesn't really matter anyway. I found out that the light I have pictured was just a concept light. The production light looks like something straight out of the "Transformers". It looks like Optimus Prime's helmet.
It's the thought that counts. :)
hows the head light mod going ?

I'm looking into importing a MT-03 Yamaha light like the ones Delta Customs in Germany are selling for the M1800.
There is another fellow talking with a custom shop in his hometown about molding a light/fairing like the B-King concept light. I will be following his progress.
hows the mod going ????:)

When I saw the M109R2, imagined that kind of headlight in my M50. Did a little photoshop editing with MT03 headlight, easier to buy here (Brazil), but dislike it. Now, the M90 was released in our market, and some friends and me are talking about changing the "buckethead" for the M109R2 headlight! I did the simulation and it appears veeeery nice!
The question is: where to order a complete M109R2 headlight, and the cost?
