Does anyone know what the setting on the rear suspension should be for a big guy like me (over three bills)? I wouldn't think the factory setting was optimal.

Well, I have mine set at the stiffest setting...I'm also over 3 bills as you put it. It rides a bit rough, but it handles BEAUTIFULLY in the twisties.
I'd recommend experimenting. It's all in what works best for you.

I'm not mechanically inclined, so my next question would likely be, "what's the stiffest setting?" If it had to be done, I'm going to have to have someone else do it. I just wanted to see if other heavier riders were making the adjustment from the factory setting. I appreciate the input.

G'day Mate, The stiffest setting is No: 7 ,there is a setting description in your owners handbook , which says, 1. place motorcycle on side stand.2. Twist the spring tension ring to the desired position with an adjuster . position 1 provides the softest spring tension and position 7 provides the stiffest . this motorcycle is delivered from the factory with its adjuster set on position 4 . note : use a hook type adjuster or Suzuki spring adjuster pt no: 09822-00003 to adjust the rear suspension spring . the Suzuki spring adjuster is available from your Suzuki dealer .i'm 72 kilograms and have just set mine on 7 and found it ok, the bike keeps the line into corners perfectly , hope this helps Paul .........

buy the ohlins shock and it feels like a new bike as you can then set the rebound and compression.Best money I have spent on my bike.cheers.spawn
